Omaha Beach and Beyond Tour

You’ve read the book...

You’ve dreamed of going...

You’ve seen the movies and photographs...

Now walk Omaha Beach accompanied by author Bob Slaughter, one of America’s most recognized WWII veterans, in an exceptional chance to relive history!

Bob Slaughter is one of the few survivors of Company D, 116th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division, a unit in the first wave of the landings that hit the most heavily defended area of Omaha Beach on D-Day, the infamous Dog Green Sector. Sergeant Slaughter witnessed the horrific deaths of many of his friends, comrades and commanders, but lived through the carnage. After fighting at the tremendous Battle of Saint-Lô, he was severely wounded during the ferocious battle for Hill 203. Evacuated to England, Bob later returned to Company D, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge, crossing the Roer River, and fighting on into Germany.

Bob Slaughter is one of a handful of surviving World War II infantrymen whose images represent the American veteran in the national and international consciousness today. At 6’5,” he has always been a figure (almost) larger than life: his best-selling memoir, many documentaries, and numerous appearances on major news channels in the United States and throughout Europe have earned him iconic status, yet he has always sought, first and foremost, to bear witness to the deeds of his many fallen comrades-in-arms who could not speak for themselves. In so doing, he has become the voice of his generation, and part of the conscience of us all.
